然而,这样的更改存在一个问题:我们并未使复仇机制也具有同样的等待时间。这意味着在玩家离线与被分配搜寻之间存在一个空挡,离线玩家可以被复仇,却不会进入配对,被敌方搜寻到。不幸的是,许多用户开始寻找方式滥用这个空挡,以进行「预期内的复仇」,尽量确保他们的村庄不会进入配对。因此相对于其他进入配对机制的普通玩家而言,这些玩家拥有这样的优势是不公平的。
在上次的更新补丁就是想要修改这个空挡,使复仇攻击也像普通配对攻击一样,有一样的等待时间。换句话说,普通敌方与复仇者应该有同样的机会攻击同一个村庄。然而这次的补丁存在一个bug,使复仇攻击的等待时间被多重触发,甚至在复仇应该发生时加重限制了复仇攻击。然而,所谓「复仇冷却」并非有意设计的。

Developer's Note: Revenge attacking
What has been changed and what's next?
Revenge attacking used to be too lenient, then we made it too strict, but after this week's final adjustment it should be just right. More detailed info follows:
Back in the days of yore, your Clash of Clans village would be made available for enemy attack the instant you disconnected from it for any reason. This lead to frustrating circumstances where a momentary connection blip could instantly result in you getting attacked while playing. To be more tolerant of these disconnects, we changed multiplayer matchmaking some time ago so that it would instead wait for a short time before considering you as "actually offline," and only then make your village available for enemy attack.
However, there was a problem, as we didn't also update revenge attacks to have the same waiting time. This meant that there was a small window immediately after a player went offline where revenge attacks would be available, but normal multiplayer attacks through matchmaking would not be. Unfortunately, many players started to find ways to exploit this small window of "guaranteed revenge" to keep their villages out of multiplayer matchmaking as much as possible, giving them an unfair advantage over other players who let their villages go to matchmaking as they should.
The patch that was put out in the last update was meant to address this small window, and give revenge attacks the same waiting time as attacks through normal matchmaking. Put another way, normal attackers and revengers would have an equal shot at a village that just went offline. There was a bug in this patch that made the new waiting time for revenge attacks trigger repeatedly in some cases, which heavily restricted revenge attacks even when they should be available. However, this "revenge cooldown" was never intended. It will be fixed in the next maintenance break, whereupon revenge attacks and normal attacks through multiplayer matchmaking will be considered as equal.
